Our application window for 2024 has closed.

Applications are due on March 30, 2024. Interviews will be held on April 13 and 14.

Lifeguards

Minimum Qualifications:  Applicants must be at least 15 years of age. Must have current Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications. Must also pass Green Valley Pool's CPR and in-water testing. Certification courses are available through the American Red Cross and the Town of Danville.

Your lifeguard class must be an in-person class. All-online courses will not fulfill the certification requirement.

  • In addition to performing lifeguard duties during normal pool hours, lifeguards will maintain pool chemistry (and documentation), assist with daily clean up and participate in ongoing training.

    The pool is open for recreational swimming weekends only when the local public schools are in session and everyday during Summer. The schedule is 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm daily. Occasionally hours are extended for special events.

    Those hired can expect to work approximately 12-16 hours per week as a lifeguard. Lifeguards work, on average, 3 – 4 days per week, 4 hrs per shift.

The Green Valley Pool seeks qualified applicants for Spring and Summer employment as Gate Guards. The Pool is open May through September.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 14 years of age.  Must have a current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional or Community Rescuer certifications.  We strongly recommend an in-person class. Must be able to pass Green Valley Pools CPR testing. Certification courses are available through the American Red Cross, Town of Danville, and town of San Ramon.

Gate Guards

  • Gate Guard responsibilities include greeting and checking-in members, answering phones and taking messages, assisting with parties and events, monitoring and cleaning the pool facilities and grounds, including men’s and women’s bathrooms. Assisting Lifeguards when necessary.

    The pool is open daily from 12:00-8:00 pm. Occasionally hours are extended for special events.

    Those hired can expect to work 8-12 hours per week. Gate Guards work, on average 2-3 days per week, 4 hours per shift.
