Each year the Pool hires qualified Lifeguards and Gate Guards. The required qualifications of each position are listed below. If you meet the necessary requirements and are interested in becoming of member of the Green Valley Pool staff please fill out the application, and send it along with cover letter and your resume (including references).
The Green Valley Pool seeks qualified applicants for Spring and Summer employment as Lifeguards. The Pool is open May through September.
Applications are due on April 16, 2021. Interviews will be held via Zoom. No late applications will be accepted.
Lifeguards:
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 15 years of age. Must have current Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications. Must also pass Green Valley Pool's CPR and in-water testing.
Certification courses are available through the American Red Cross and the Town of Danville.
Overview: In addition to performing lifeguard duties during normal pool hours, lifeguards will maintain pool chemistry (and documentation), assist with daily clean up and participate in ongoing training. The pool is open for recreational swimming weekends only when the local public schools are in session and everyday during Summer. The schedule is weekdays 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and weekends 12:00 to 9:00 pm. Occasionally hours are extended for barbeques and movie nights.Those hired can expect to work approximately 16 – 20 hours per week as a lifeguard. Lifeguards work, on average, 3 – 4 days per week, 4 – 6 hrs per shift.

Gate Guards
The Green Valley Pool seeks qualified applicants for Spring and Summer employment as Gate Guards. The Pool is open Memorial Day weekend through September.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 14 years of age. Must have a current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications. Must be able to pass Green Valley Pools CPR testing.
Certification courses are available through the American Red Cross and the Town of Danville.
Overview: Gate Guard responsibilities include greeting and checking-in members, answering phones and taking messages, assisting with parties and events, monitoring and cleaning the pool facilities and grounds, including mens and womens bathrooms. Assisting Lifeguards when necessary.
The pool is open for recreational swimming weekends only when the local public schools are in session and everyday during Summer. The schedule is weekdays 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and weekends 12:00 to 9:00 pm. Occasionally hours are extended for barbeques and movie nights.
